History
Same diver, different colour
The SKX009 is mechanically identical to the SKX007 — same Seiko 7S26 caliber, same 42.5 mm case, same ISO 6425 dive certification. The difference is the red-and-blue ("Pepsi") bezel insert and a jubilee-style bracelet on the K2 variant.
The Pepsi reference was Seiko's acknowledgement of the GMT-Master's iconic colour story — the SKX009 brought a dive-bezel version of that look down to a sub-$300 price point, and made it accessible to a generation of mechanical-watch enthusiasts.
